Operatives of the C4i Tactical Unit of the Rivers State Police Command have sealed off a hotel and bar belonging to Hon. Jones Ogbonna, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and an ally of the party’s presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar. This is the second time the police will close the two facilities.

It was gathered that the policemen, who stormed the two facilities, located at Elekahia community and Elekahia Housing Estate, all in Port Harcourt City local government area of the state, ordered guests and staff out of the facility.

Speaking on the development, Ogbonna, who is also a former member of the Rivers State House of Assembly, insisted that former governor Nyesom Wike was behind the development.

He said, “I am the owner of Priscy’s Bar at Elekahia. I am also the owner of CSKR Hotels Limited situated at Elekahia Housing Estate.

“In the early hours of 29th May 2023 at about 12:55am, my phone rang, I picked up and I got a message from my manager that men of the C4i tactical team of the State Police Command, in about five patrol vehicles drove into the premises of Priscy’s Bar situated at Elekahia, ordered guests in the rooms and customers in the club as well as customers and staff at the outer bar out.

“They said they have the authority and order of the governor to seal the place. As I speak, they are in occupation of the premises.

“Soon after, I also got a call from the manager of CSKR Hotels at Elekahia Housing Estate, to the effect that men of the C4i of the Nigerian Police Force were also at the hotel, searching from room to room, moving all guests out, ordering staff and everyone else, including security out of the premises.”

However, both the Rivers State government and the State Police Command are yet to react to the development.
