The Imo State police command says it has launched a manhunt for killers of  five operatives and a couple at Okpala junction in the Ngor Okpala local government area of the state on Friday.

Gunmen had Friday  opened fire on five policemen who went to eat at a local restaurant, killed all of them and took away  their rifles.

They also killed a couple, Mr and Mrs Chinaka Nwagu who owned a shop beside the scene of the crime.

Spokesman of the police command, Henry Okoye, said tactical and operational teams had been deployed to the area on the trail of the suspects.
