Federal Capital Territory (FCT) commissioner of police, , CP Olatunji Disu, has said plans were underway to reward outstanding police officers in service delivery.
The commissioner stated this at the 2024 Customer Service Week Celebration at the police command’s headquarters in Abuja.
While urging the command’s officers and men to exhibit exemplary behaviour, Disu noted that, in line with the directive of the inspector-general of police (IGP) Olukayode Egbetokun, the command would seek out outstanding officers for rewards in the future.
He charged the officers and men to carry out their duties diligently, noting that “our duty as police officers is to serve the people, and we are to make people happy by the job we do for them. The IGP is interested in our duties to the public as we must continually build trust and quality engagement.”
He also appreciated the officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) for their job, noting that they are always on duty and sacrificing their lives for the country’s good.
He charged them with tracking and arresting criminals, investigating and properly prosecuting those found guilty, and maintaining peace and order.
Also speaking, the national coordinator and chief executive officer of SERVICOM, Nnenna Akajemeli, who was represented at the event, said that with this year’s customer service week’s theme, “Above and Beyond,” it was time to celebrate the hard work of employees who have dedicated their time to the good of the organisation.
She noted that Customer Service Week helps to boost staff morale, and the platform rewards workers for their work.
The police commissioner, SERVICOM, CP Robert Clement, tasked the officers with standing out in their dealings with the public regarding relationships and investigations, among other things.
