Ahead of the March 11 governorship and states House of Assembly elections, the assistant inspector- general of police in charge of Zone 14 comprising Katsina and Kaduna, AIG Ahmad Abdulrahman, has sounded a note of warning to would be trouble makers to change their minds because the police force will stop at nothing to take decisive actions against them.
This is even as he also called on police orderlies to VIPs not to accompany them to voting centres or would be arrested and prosecuted accordingly.
AIG Abdulrahman gave the warnings while fielding questions from newsmen shortly after he arrived the Kaduna Police command preparatory for the governorship and state assembly elections.
He also called on politicians to caution their supporters against fermenting any trouble before, during or even after the election, stressing that the police force will carry out the order of the Inspector General of Police to the letter in bringing to book any election trouble maker.
The police boss however expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the presidential and National Assembly elections which he said was largely peaceful in terms of security, adding that the police are more prepared ahead of the coming election.
“In the coming elections, the police are fully prepared and anybody who tries to throw spanners in the system will meet us ready and we will take decisive action against such person or group of persons.
“Similarly, orderlies to VIPs must not accompany their principals to venue of election, because any of them found will be arrested and prosecuted accordingly,” he stressed.
He also called on people of Kaduna State to remain law abiding and go about their duties peacefully, assuring that the police will always protect them.
