Police Warn Against Illegal Use Of Drones

The Nigeria Police Force has warned against the indiscriminate use of illegal drones.

In statement, FCT police spokesperson, DSP Josepine Adeh, said the police commissioner, Babaji Sunday, said a task force had been set up to arrest and address such cases.

The police PRO also said the commissioner had asked the divisional police officers to arrest and prosecute violators. The statement said the use of drones was creating fears among residents.

The commissioner directed the immediate enforcement of drone usage regulations, arrest of violators and confiscation of such drones.

Using drones in the FCT should require meeting certain qualifications, obtaining certifications as demanded by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) and the office of National security adviser (NSA), the statement said.
