The Edo State Government, through the Edo State Primary Healthcare Development Agency (EDSPHCDA), in collaboration with development partners such as the World Health Organisation (WHO) and UNICEF, is gearing up to launch the second round of the National Immunisation Plus Days (NIPDs) Vaccination Exercise in 2025.

According to a statement by the executive secretary, Dr. Coulson Osoikhia, on Monday, the vaccination exercise targets children aged 0 to 5 and will take place from June 28th to July 3rd, 2025.

He said the vaccination teams will visit homes, schools, churches, mosques, and other community structures to administer two drops of the Oral Polio Vaccine to eligible children.

He added that the polio vaccine and other routine vaccines will be available at Primary Healthcare Centres across the state.

“Parents and guardians are urged to take their eligible children to the nearest Primary Healthcare Centre for vaccination.

The state government emphasises the importance of immunisation in preventing polio and other vaccine-preventable diseases.

“The ultimate goal is to keep polio at zero in Edo State, and the government is counting on the cooperation of parents and guardians to achieve this objective.
