Nigerian gospel music artiste, Aduke Ajayi, known as Aduke Gold has died.
The news of her passing was shared on Tuesday by fellow gospel artist, Esther Igbekele, who posted a tribute on social media with a picture of Aduke Gold.
She wrote, “A general has fallen. ADUKE GOLD #rip”
The cause of death has not been confirmed as at the time of this report.
Aduke grew up in the Ogba and Badagry areas of Lagos and was the 11th child of her late parents.
She started professional music in 2004, and rose to fame with her live performance at the first remembrance of the late gospel artiste, Baba Are.
One of her famous tracks, “Nitori Ogo” which she released in 2021 also brought her into the limelight.
In addition to her remarkable musical career, Aduke holds a degree in History and International Studies from the Lagos State University and a postgraduate degree in Child Psychology from the United Kingdom.
