As part of the Workers Day celebration, stakeholders have called for the safety and security of Nigerian workers across the country.
The emir of Nasarawa Emirate, Alhaji Usman Ibrahim, made the call at the 4th national stakeholders’ seminar on environment and safety organised by the Environment and Safety Management Institute (ESMI).
He said Nigerian workers’ safety involves the implementation of Nigerian safety measures, providing proper training and re-training of personnel.
He said the country is faced with threats of banditry and other forms of insecurity, which are affecting Nigerian workers and their productivity.
On the theme, “Banditry and threat to occupational safety in Nigeria” the traditional ruler, who was represented by Sunday Edibo said, “safety first is safety always.”
