All is now set for the official flag-off ceremony of the first phase of the 6-day Prof Gregory Ibe Medical and Surgical Outreach for 2022 scheduled for Abia Central Senatorial district.

This was contained in a press statement issued by the administrative secretary of Gregory Iyke Foundation which was obtained yesterday by LEADERSHIP in Umuahia, the state capital.

“This in keeping with the passionate desire of our founder, Prof Gregory Ibe to continue championing constant delivery of hope to the hopeless through humanitarian interventions,” the statement not.

The statement further explained that the philanthropic organization was established by Ibe, the founder and chancellor of Gregory University, Uturu in 1991 as a platform for execution of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

It said the programme will be inaugurated by the member representating Aba South state constituency in the state House of Assemly and All Progressives Grand Alliance deputy governorship candidate, Hon Obinna Ichita on behalf of Ibe.

“As it is consistent with the outreach, the programme is designed to diagnose and treat over 20,000 patients, covering optical cases, physiotherapy related issues, acute and chronic diseases.

It added that plans had also been made with some partnering medical centres to handle surgical operations for needing patients, while all treatment procedures, inclusive of the surgeries will be delivered to the patients.

The statement, therefore, invited persons within the district in need of medical attention to prepare to benefit from the programme, adding that other districts will take their turns subsequently.
