A pro-Tinubu organisation under the auspices of Tinubu/Shettima Campaign Organisation, Adamawa senatorial zone has called on the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Abubakar Kyari, to do whatever it takes to unite the party in the interest of Nigerians and for national development.
Kyari succeeded Senator Abdullahi Adamu as the APC national chairman after a National Working Committee (NWC) meeting in Abuja on Monday. Adamu had resigned alongside the party’s national secretary, Senator Iyiola Omisore, on Sunday.
Coordinator of the organisation, Hon. Danasabe Suleiman Kakanda who made this call at a press briefing yesterday, described Kyari’s emergence as the party’s chairman as a path in the right direction for the party.
He said that the most important thing needed in the party presently, is the unity of members of the party, because there cannot be true development if there is no unity among the people.
“What we need presently is the unity among members and leaders of the party, that is why we are appealing to the national chairman to set up a committee that would ensure the unity of all the members of APC.
“We know that the past chairman could not do more in the area of uniting the members, so if Kyari could unite everyone, he will write his name in gold in the history of the party’s leadership. Because there can not be true development and success without unity,” he said.
The coordinator also urged the leadership under Senator Kyari to ensure that loyal members of the APC who worked for the success of the party during the last general elections are rewarded and given a sense of belonging in the party.
Kakanda advised members of the party to ensure a good working relationship with the new leadership of the party, saying that there is the need for the leadership of the party and members to work in one accord for the success of future elections.
