Project Completion: Yobe SSG Inspects Ongoing Road, Market, Other Constructions

As part of efforts to ensure the completion of all ongoing projects, the Yobe State secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Baba Mallam wali has once again embarked on the inspection of roads as well as markets among other projects awarded by the administration of Governor Mai Mala Buni in Gaidam, Yunusari, Bursari, and Yunusari local government areas of the state.

Gov. Buni has while presenting the 2025 budget before the state house of assembly promised to prioritize the completion of all ongoing projects in addition initiating news across the state.

A statement issued by the Press Secretary to the State Government, Shu’aibu ABdullahi said the SSG has while inspecting the projects said the measure apart from ensuring the completion of the constructions was also meant to guarantee value for the money injection on the projects.

The SSG who expressed satisfaction with the level and quality of work by the contractors said, Governor Buni led administration would continue to work towards serving the interest of the people of state.

“Part of what we have built into our strategy is the continuous monitoring of government projects to ensure conformity with standard and value for the money spent and as such, once in a while we go out ourselves to check on what contractors are doing to ensure that Yobe people have the best of value for their money.

“I am impressed with what I have seen and I must commend all the contractors working on our roads and the Ministry of Works that supervise them and I just hope they can keep this up and make sure we have value for money.”

Wali assured that the Buni administration would continue to prioritise the provision of infrastructure across the 17 local government areas in the state.

The SSG accompanied by the Commissioners for Finance, Works, Housing, Commerce and Industry, and Permanent Secretaries as well as director general Bureau of Public Procurement, and some technical Director inspected the rehabilitation of Bayamari-Yunusari road, construction of Yunusari Modern Market, construction of Modern Market Geidam, construction of administration block at the Mai Idriss Alooma State Polytechnic Geidam, rehabilitation of Yunusari-Yunusari road and Bukarti -Geidam road.
