The Yobe State Project Coordination Unit Office of the Multi-sectoral Crisis Recovery Project (MCRP) has been applauded for executing various developmental projects in the state.
The National Coordinator of MCRP, Professor Umar Babboi made the commendation during a state familiarization and projects assessment visit to Yobe State.
Prof. Babboi said the familiarization was part of efforts by the national coordination office to visit project sites and interact with stakeholders and beneficiaries of various programmes across the BAY States of Borno, Adamawa and Yobe for sustainable livelihood support.
He expressed appreciation for various developmental projects executed by the Yobe MCRP towards improving the livelihoods of the people affected by the activities of insurgency.
The NC reassured the commitment of the national coordination unit through the federal government, NEDC and World Bank for continued support to achieve the set objectives.
Prof. Babboi revealed that the visibility of the Yobe coordination unit of the MCRP is commendable imploring the state project coordination unit to sustain the effort.
He specifically expressed happiness with the execution of various road projects, WASH, Health, public buildings, education, and agriculture attributing the success to teamwork.
The State Project Coordinator, Musa Idi Jidawa said the visit was part of renewed commitment by the national office of the MCRP aimed at defining support and creating working Synergy for effective delivery.
The coordinator further said, “The presence of the national team in Yobe is not just a reflection of the importance of the visit but also a reminder of shared responsibilities in ensuring the success of the project.
“The visit is the first of its kind from the national team to Yobe which affirmed the readiness of the new national coordinator towards moving the northeastern states forwards.”
Jidawa appreciated the support from the state government under the leadership of Governor Mai Mala Buni and other stakeholders for the successful implementation of various projects across the state.
