Providus Bank has been named among the Best Workplaces in Banking 2025 by global research and consulting firm, Great Place To Work, in recognition of its commitment to building a people-focused culture anchored on trust, innovation, and inclusivity.

Speaking on the recognition, the bank’s group head of human Resources, Kingsley Ogirri, said the award validates the institution’s long-standing policies to foster growth, wellness, and inclusiveness.

“This award means a lot to us because it comes from what matters most — the experience of our people. It is proof that the policies and programmes we have put in place are making a difference: from growth opportunities, to wellness initiatives, to creating a space where everyone feels valued. We will continue to listen, improve, and ensure ProvidusBank remains a place where careers and people flourish,” Ogirri said.

Also reacting, the managing director/CEO of ProvidusBank, Walter Akpani, described the honour as a tribute to the workforce’s dedication.

“Our people are at the very heart of what we do. This recognition is a tribute to their hard work, creativity, and dedication. At ProvidusBank, we’ve always believed that when you create the right culture — one built on trust, collaboration, and innovation — excellence naturally follows. We are proud of this milestone, and it strengthens our resolve to keep building a workplace where our people can thrive and our clients continue to receive exceptional value,” Akpani stated.

With the recognition, ProvidusBank joins a select group of banks in Nigeria that have distinguished themselves by cultivating a workplace defined by integrity, resilience, teamwork, and a drive for excellence. For the lender, the award serves not just as validation of past strides, but as fresh motivation to deepen its vision of remaining an employer of choice in the industry.
