The Oniroko of Irokoland in the Ado – Odo/ Ota local government area of Ogun State, Oba Olusegun Feyijinmi has pleaded with all serving and former public office holders to emulate a former member of the House of Representatives for Ado-Odo / Ota federal constituency, Hon Babatunde Ogunola (a.k.a Tomo), who has continued to impact on the lives of the people of the local government.
Oba Feyijinmi, who made these remarks on Saturday during the installation of a 500KVA transformer donated by Hon Ogunola to Ifelajulo Central and Ifelajulo West Community Development Areas (CDAs) in Iroko town, Ijoko-Ota, Ogun State, noted that the people of the entire community would forever remain grateful to Ogunola for his impactful philanthropic gestures.
The monarch charged the political class and all public office holders, regardless of their political affiliations and ideologies, to borrow a leaf from Ogunola and channel all their resources towards the development of their various communities.
In his welcome address, the axis chairman, Ifelagba CDA, Mr Hassan Olutade, praised Hon Ogunola for coming to the aid of the two communities to end the abysmal electricity supply in the area, adding that the communities had never had it so good.
The chairman, Ifelajulo Central CDA, Engr. Joseph Apata lauded Hon Ogunola for his philanthropic gestures, stressing that his donation of a multi-million naira transformer to a community where he neither had any relation or business interest nor contested for any political office but only came to the aid of the communities when an appeal was made to him, was, no doubt, worthy of emulation by all serving and former political and public office holders.
