The Nigerian Publishers Association (NPA) has expressed its commitment to fostering a stronger partnership with the LEADERSHIP Group to enhance public awareness about its activities, especially as the association undergoes rebranding.
Disclosing this during a courtesy visit to the LEADERSHIP corporate headquarters in Abuja on Thursday, the Chairman of the association, Mr Lukman Dauda, underscored the pivotal role of the NPA in Nigeria’s education sector and the importance of the media, especially the LEADERSHIP brand, in providing quality content.
He highlighted the organisation’s unwavering dedication to promoting knowledge and ensuring the production of high-quality reading materials that align with the nation’s cultural and moral values.
Also, Dauda noted that the association remains a key stakeholder in shaping Nigeria’s curriculum, advocating for a reading culture that prioritises the quality of materials consumed rather than just the habit of reading. He emphasised that the NPA is committed to upholding ethical publishing standards to guarantee the best content for readers.
In the fight against piracy, the NPA chairman stated that the association is working tirelessly to curb intellectual property theft, which continues to pose a significant challenge to the publishing industry. He reassured stakeholders that efforts are being intensified to reduce piracy to its barest minimum.
Also speaking during the visit, the Deputy President( North) for the association, Alhaji Isiaq Ajibola, highlighted the association’s continuous drive to encourage readership across the country. He stressed that collaboration with the LEADERSHIP Group would catalyze achieving this goal, fostering a mutually beneficial relationship between both entities.
Ajibola expressed optimism that the partnership would amplify the association’s impact and provide a platform to advocate for policies that support the publishing industry. He urged all stakeholders to recognise the importance of quality educational materials and their role in national development.
Responding on behalf of LEADERSHIP, the media company’s managing editor, Raliat Ahmed-Yusuf, assured the delegation of LEADERSHIP’s commitment to delivering not just publicity but also fostering synergy through discussions on potential areas of collaboration.
