Russian President, Vladimir Putin, has reaffirmed Moscow’s commitment to Iran, describing the country as a “loyal friend and reliable partner” during what he called a difficult period.
Putin made this known in a message addressed to Iran’s new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, and President, Masoud Pezeshkian, to mark the celebration of the Persian New Year.
According to a statement released by the Kremlin, the Russian leader expressed confidence in Iran’s resilience, stating that he hopes the Iranian people will “overcome these difficult trials with dignity.”
The message underscores ongoing diplomatic ties between Moscow and Tehran amid heightened geopolitical tensions, with Russia reiterating its position as a dependable ally to Iran.
The Persian New Year, also known as Nowruz, is widely celebrated across Iran and other parts of the region, symbolising renewal and hope for the year ahead.
