In 2020, GAIA AFRICA & PwC came together to create an executive development programme for corporate female middle to senior managers looking to take on roles at executive level. Since inception, three cohorts have been held.

The collaborating parties have agreed to expand the programme launch and have signed a three-way MOU for an expanded program for women in the corporate sector, public office and business. As a run-up to the program, the parties will be holding a series of webinars on issues pertinent to women. The first of these webinars is scheduled to hold on Tuesday 30 May 2023 and focuses on the importance of women in policy making in the private and public sectors.

Speaking on the collaboration, founder & CEO of GAIA AFRICA, Olatowun Candide-Johnson, said: “We are excited to continue our collaboration with PwC and to have LBS on board to continue the mission of empowering women to ensure that they take their place as decision makers by providing a platform for making connections, building confidence and expanding their knowledge base. Our vision is to contribute to the socio-economic growth and transformation of Africa by empowering women to organise around the principles of female leadership and participation in business.

We believe that this collaboration with PwC and LBS is a step in the right direction”.

Partner at PwC, Esiri Agbeyi, said: “The collaboration with GAIA AFRICA and LBS is in alignment with our purpose of building trust in society and solving important problems. At PwC, we value diversity and inclusion of women in all facets of leadership and we believe that education is a key platform for the transformation of our society. GAIA AFRICA’s dedication to women’s empowerment is laudable while LBS brings an academic flavour for the benefit of our next cohort. We are excited about the prospects of this collaboration and we look forward to working together”.
