Quality Education For Girl-child Best Investment – Madaki

Education secretary of Catholic Archdiocese of Kaduna, Rev Fr Emmanuel Madaki has described quality education as the best investment for every girl child.

Madaki stated this during the sensitisation of over 50 girls from 10 schools in Kaduna in collaboration with Arewa Girl Child Initiative to mark the 2023 Girl Child Day.

He said there is urgent need to boost the courage, the strength and the confidence of every girl child in Nigeria.

The Christian cleric reiterated that investing in girl-child will increase the visibility of the female gender in the political space and will also aid Nigeria’s economic growth and development.

Madaki identified, insecurity, mediocrity and ideology as major threats to girl child education, saying that education of the gender encourages the girl-child and opens them up to more opportunities in the social space.

He lamented over the rising number of uneducated girl-child, urging government to reduce the issue to barest minimum.

The founder of Arewa Girl Child Initiative, Happiness Titus Ziria advised the adolescent girls to stay focused and build their capacity.

She also urged government and Nigerians to encourage girl child education, saying that there is need to build a world where every girl can lead and thrive.

A 13-year-old girl, Usakahyel Isa from Our Lady of Fatima Girls Secondary school, Sabo, Kaduna who spoke on behalf of the girls promised to build her self-esteem from what she has been taught.
