It was a day of solemn reflection, heartfelt remembrance, and regal honour as family members, dignitaries, and well-wishers gathered to bid a final farewell to Her Royal Majesty, Queen Mary J. Ukah, whose life and legacy were celebrated at her funeral ceremony held over the weekend.

The atmosphere was marked by deep reverence for a woman described by many as a pillar of strength, wisdom, and grace. Emotions ran high as tributes poured in, capturing the impact Queen Mary had on those who knew her and the generations she inspired.

“A Queen laid to rest. Today, we bid a solemn farewell to Queen Mary J. Ukah. May her soul find eternal peace and light!” read one tribute, echoing the mood of the day.

Queen Mary J. Ukah was remembered not only as a royal matriarch but also as a symbol of dignity and service to her people. Her enduring influence was felt across generations, as mourners spoke of her unwavering leadership, compassion, and commitment to community development.

“A legacy etched in royalty. Honouring the memory and laying to rest Her Royal Majesty, Queen Mary J. Ukah. Your reign lives on in our hearts and history. Rest in peace,” a statement read during the ceremony.

Cultural rites, prayers, and ceremonial salutes formed part of the royal farewell, underscoring the significance of her role and the respect she commanded during her lifetime. The event drew traditional leaders, government representatives, and members of the community who came together to honour a life well-lived.

“A royal light dimmed. Honouring the remarkable life and bidding farewell to Queen Mary J. Ukah. May her gentle soul rest eternally in peace,” another mourner offered.

As the sun set on the day, many left with a sense of both loss and gratitude—grief for a queen no longer physically present, and gratitude for the enduring light she left behind.

“In loving and reverent memory of Her Royal Majesty, Queen Mary J. Ukah. Your strength, wisdom, and kindness will never be forgotten. Rest on!” summed up a heartfelt message from her family.

Queen Mary J. Ukah’s burial may mark the end of a chapter, but her legacy, by all accounts, remains indelible—etched into the history of her people and preserved in the hearts of those she touched.
