Queens of Peace under the auspices of Messengers of Peace Foundation, have kicked-off a campaign and consultation with relevant government institutions and other stakeholders as part of their 2022 peace initiatives.
Dr Suleiman Adejoh, National President of Messenger of Peace and organiser of the annual Queen of Peace Nigeria International Pageant stated disclosed this on Thursday in an interview with newsmen on the sideline of the group’s courtesy visit to the office of Attorney General of the Federal/Minister of Justice.
According to him, the stakeholders’ consultation was part of the newly crowned queens passion to spread the messenge of peaceful coexistence among Nigerians, irrespective of ethnic, religious and tribal differences.
“In line with our vision as a foundation , the 8 newly crowned queens have mapped out plans on how to key into government efforts at promoting peace and they are starting with stakeholders engagement.
“There is no doubt that the office of the AGF plays a crucial role not just for justice, but in peace building, and that is why we came here.
“WE were well received by the head of the Gender Department, Yewande Awopetu and other other fficers , who have pledged their support for the young beauty queens.
“A representative of the United Nations, Hadiza Dorayi, equally promised partnership with the Queens, and urged them to lend their voices towards ensuring that the Anti Gender Bill that was passed by the National Assembly is signed into law.
“The Solicitor General and Permanent Secretary also met the Queens and assured them of the ministry’s support and advised them to be good ambassadors of peace,” Adejoh said.
