The annual Quomodo Inter-School Swimming Competition is set to take place this Saturday at the swimming section of Ikoyi Club 1938.
The competition will feature all major swimming strokes: Freestyle, Breaststroke, Backstroke, Butterfly, and Individual Medley. Distances will be tailored to different age categories, ensuring fair and competitive racing for all participants.
Saturday’s event marks the first leg of the developmental talent hunt competition, which follows a league format. The Inter-School Swimming League is structured across three categories in both the first and second legs: Primary, Junior Secondary, and Senior Secondary levels, providing a broad platform for young swimmers to compete and showcase their talents.
The event is expected to deliver a vibrant and competitive atmosphere across all categories.
Mr. Akinbulejo Onabolu, Chairman of the Swimming Section of Ikoyi Club 1938, informed our correspondent that all preparations were complete for the “Swimming Grand Slam” at the esteemed club.
“We are always happy to receive youngsters at Ikoyi Club, and we believe the forthcoming event will reflect the club’s commitment to developing talent for the country,” Onabolu stated. “Every aspect of the programme has been attended to, and we expect a very good competition in a very conducive atmosphere at the swimming section. It will be fun-filled.”
