The CEO of VH&M Travels, Ambassador Rachael Yedi, has been honoured with the Nelson Mandela Leadership Award of Excellence and Integrity by the West Africa Youth Council.
The award, presented at a ceremony in Lagos, celebrates her remarkable contributions to youth empowerment, ethical leadership, and entrepreneurship across the continent.
Yedi, a passionate advocate for young people, has used her platform in the travel and tourism industry to create opportunities for hundreds of African youths. Through Vhandm Travels, she has provided mentorship, skills training, and employment, helping young people turn their dreams into reality.
Officials of the West Africa Youth Council praised Yedi for upholding values that reflect the legacy of Nelson Mandela – integrity, compassion, and leadership with a clear purpose. They described her as a shining example of what true leadership looks like in today’s Africa.
In her acceptance speech, an emotional Yedi dedicated the award to every young African striving to make a difference.
“This is not just my win – it belongs to every youth out there who chooses hard work, hope, and honesty. I am humbled and more determined than ever to continue this journey of impact,” she said.
The West Africa Youth Council said the award is part of its efforts to celebrate change makers who are raising the bar in leadership and inspiring the next generation.
