Katsina State governor, Dikko Umaru Radda, has convened a high-level security meeting with stakeholders from Katsina local government aea over the growing wave of street gang clashes threatening peace within the state capital.
The emergency engagement followed increasing reports of violent confrontations among rival youth groups across parts of the metropolis, raising concerns among residents and business owners about safety and public order.
Leading the delegation, the chairman of the local government, Isah Miqdad, presented the situation as urgent, noting that the frequency and intensity of gang-related violence had escalated in recent weeks, with some areas witnessing repeated clashes.

He pledged decisive action, including strengthening intelligence gathering, increasing patrols in affected areas, and supporting community-based interventions aimed at engaging at-risk youths.
