Governor Dikko Umar Radda of Katsina State has signed the state’s ₦828.58 billion 2027 Appropriation Law into effect, shortly after the State House of Assembly formally presented the passed law to him.
The budget, which totals ₦828,578,844,091.48, comprises ₦190.73 billion for recurrent expenditure and ₦637.85 billion for capital expenditure.
The Speaker of the Katsina State House of Assembly, Nasiru Yahaya Zango, presented the Appropriation Law to Governor Radda after the House completed the necessary legislative processes.
Speaking during the presentation, Zango congratulated Governor Radda on becoming, according to him, the first governor in the country to sign the 2027 Appropriation Bill into law.
He said the Assembly remained committed to supporting the administration in delivering development across Katsina State.
The Speaker also reaffirmed the loyalty and support of the lawmakers to the All Progressives Congress (APC) administrations at the state and federal levels.
He urged the people of Katsina State to continue supporting the administration, saying such support would enable it to implement more development programmes across the state.
The signing gives legal effect to the 2027 budget and provides the framework for the state government’s spending and implementation of its programmes and projects throughout the fiscal year.
The ₦637.85 billion capital component accounts for the larger share of the budget, while ₦190.73 billion is earmarked for recurrent obligations.
