No fewer than 70 houses and yam storage barns have been destroyed by rainstorm that wreaked havoc in Mabudi, Sabon Gida and other communities in Langtang South local government area of Plateau State.
LEADERSHIP Friday gathered that the devastating windstorm accompanied by heavy rain left a trail of destruction in the communities.
A resident of the area confirmed that about 70 houses had their roofs blown off while several buildings collapsed.
A resident, Nanbol Nanzing, whose community was affected, lamented the incident and called for intervention from the state government.
The council chairman of Langtang South local government area, Hon Nanfa Nbin confirmed the incident in a statement signed by his media aide, Mr Iliya Bako.
The statement said, the Local Emergency Management Committee in the local government constituted by the council boss led by the deputy chairperson, Hon. Julcit Musa has visited affected households.
The council boss sympathised with the victims and called on them to accept the disaster in good faith.
