A pro-President Bola Tinubu group, City Boys has provided Nigerian youths and persons with disabilities (PWDs) in Abuja and the six geo-political zones with Ramadan care packages.
The packages were launched in Abuja at the All Progressives Congress (APC) Youth Campaign Office.
The group delivered the Ramadan care packages to 100 000 PWDs which contained a carton of Indomie, rice, sugar, salt, groundnut oil and sachet tomato paste that can feed a household of five.

The group said it would soon take packages to youths in the six geo-political zones of the country via the offices of the Senior Special Assistants to the President on Youths, Students and Community Engagement.
At the launch of the initiative, the SSA to the president on community engagement in the North West Zone, Abdullahi Tankwayakase, urged individuals and organisations to support Nigerian communities particularly the downtrodden, vulnerable and others to help ameliorate the hardship in the country.
“Government cannot do it alone. By next week, we will roll out into the six geopolitical zones, starting from Lagos to the North. In each of the zones, states will be selected where this programme will be carried out, and 4,000 households per selected state will be attended to.”

While commending the efforts of the group, the SSA to the president on people with special needs and equal opportunity, Mohammed Isa, urged his constituency to work with the present administration which has “good” plans for persons with disabilities and special needs.

“The month of Ramadan is the month of giving, and of reaching out to people. We, as a community, received a Ramadan care package for about 100,000 PWDs in Abuja. This will go a long way in cushioning the effect of hunger amongst us, and give us a sense of belonging.

“This effort by City Groups complements the effort of the government in line with its renewed hope agenda which revolves around eradicating poverty. We can eradicate poverty by collaborating as a people to complement the efforts of the government,” Isa said.
