American rapper Boosie Badazz has filed a lawsuit against political operatives Jacob Wohl and Jack Burkman, claiming they failed to secure a presidential pardon for him after receiving a payment of $600,000.

According to a report by NOTUS, Boosie, whose real name is Torence Hatch, alleges that the duo convinced him they had strong connections within President Donald Trump’s inner circle and could guarantee a pardon. The agreement was reportedly made last year.

The rapper claims his lawyer was informed on New Year’s Day that the president had signed the pardon, but the official announcement never happened. Boosie is now seeking a refund of $300,000, arguing that their contract required half the money to be returned if the pardon was not successful.

In response, Burkman denied that any refund agreement existed, insisting his team worked heavily on the rapper’s case. He added that Boosie’s arrest in Texas earlier this year on separate charges made securing a pardon much harder.

Additionally, a White House official stated that the administration’s clemency team had never heard of Wohl or Burkman, suggesting their involvement would not have helped the application.

Although Boosie did not get the presidential pardon through the operatives, he was later sentenced to time served in his federal gun case and has since submitted a new pardon request directly to the White House.
