Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Tree of Righteousness Parish, FCT Region 46, has spent over N64 million to construct a 1.5 km road network at Fepa Quarters, Karu for the residents.

This was made known by the zonal pastor, Adewale Kukoyi, during the commissioning of the project.
According to him, they are dedicating the road that God has used them to construct for the community as part of the church’s corporate social responsibility (CSR).
On the motivation for the road project, Pastor Kukoyi explained that it is not every project that should be left for the government to handle.

“In Nigeria of today, we can’t leave everything to the government. And when we say government, we are also part of them. After all, ‘democracy is the government of the people, by the people and for the people.’

“Also, we are people of God. God told us to let your light shine before men so that they may see your good work and glorify your father who is in heaven. God actually gave us the instruction to do this so that we may be a light to this neighbourhood.

“The primary assignment of the church and the children of God is to touch lives, and win as many souls as possible to God. In the redeemed Christian Church of God , we have what they call Christian Social Responsibility. Our authority also told us that we need to say thank you to where the church is situated. This is another way of telling the people of this environment that we love them, we’re people of peace. And as they allow the church to be in the neighbourhood, we want to impact a lot on the community as much as possible,” he said.

In his remarks, Pastor Chinedu Ezekwesili, who is in charge of the church’s CSR, said the church has been doing this for decades and that this is just one of many they have done.
Some residents who could not hide their joy thanked the church for constructing the road and making the deplorable road now motorable and accessible, urging other churches and worship centres to emulate the kind gesture
