Real Warri Pikin Takes Top Comedy Prize at AFRIMMA 2026

Nigerian comedian Anita Asuoha, popularly known as Real Warri Pikin, has added another international honour to her growing list of achievements after winning the Best Stand-Up Comedian award at the 2026 African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA).

The comedian emerged victorious at the ceremony held on Saturday, September 12, at Annette Strauss Square in Dallas, Texas.

Real Warri Pikin confirmed the achievement on Instagram on Sunday, sharing her excitement with fans.

“We won #afrimma Best Stand-up Comedian 2026,” she wrote.

The Nigerian comic faced strong competition in the category, including compatriots Basketmouth, Bovi and Godfrey, as well as Kenyan comedians Eric Omondi and Ty Ngachira.

South African comedian Trevor Noah and Uganda’s Patrick “Salvado” Idringi were also among the nominees.

The latest recognition further highlights Real Warri Pikin’s growing profile beyond Nigeria, following her work across stand-up comedy, acting, digital content and live entertainment.

Known for her energetic performances and distinctive use of Nigerian Pidgin, the Delta-born entertainer has built a strong following both locally and internationally.

The 2026 AFRIMMA ceremony brought together entertainment figures from across Africa and the diaspora as the awards returned after a two-year break.
