Speaking, the vice chancellor of the university, Onyemachi Ogbulu said the university had continued to train and produce quality medical professionals with the nursing department scoring 90% in the last profession examination.

He urged them to always strive to be good ambassadors of the university by abiding to the ethics of their profession and commended their parents and lecturers for ensuring their success.

In a guest lecture, A  U  Chinweuba said the country needs a sustainable health care system built on the important roles nurses play and improvement of their working conditions to reduce to brain.

The lecture had as its theme: “Our Nurse, Our Future: Acknowledging the Vital Role of Nurses in Building a Strong and Sustainable Health Care System in Nigeria”.
