A faith based organisation operating under the aegis of Order of Knights of Saint Mulumba (KSM) has invested N10m in the provision of solar lighting project in Anambra State.
The order has also attracted the sum of $20m from the United States for investment in boreholes projects in four Nigerian states of Ogun, Rivers, Benue and Anambra.
Speaking on the issue, at the 45th Knight of Mulumba Supreme Council conversation which rounded off in Calabar, at the weekend, Worthy Supreme Knight KSM Nigeria, Dr. Charles Mbelede, stressed that the gesture has greatly cushioned the effect of levies and donations usually placed on the shoulders of members who usually shoulder the responsibility of contributing toward successful execution of any charity project by the order.
The cleric who spoke on the convention ‘s theme titled; ” Deepening Christian spirituality and family values, roles and challenges,” hailed the media for not relenting in its responsibility of setting the agenda for national development praising the media for serving as the backbone of democratic governance.
He stated that the order has consistently utilized the opportunities provided by its annual conventions to expose views and opinions that suggest pragmatic solutions to problems and challenges facing the nation.
Representing the state governor, Bassey Otu, secretary to state government, Prof. Anthony Owan Enoh, enjoined religious leaders to work in one accord with different leaders irrespective of differences in doctrines in the task of nation building and sustainable foundation for societal growth.
He hailed the organisers of the convention for coming up with a theme that aligns with the philosophy of Governor Otu’s administration which is ‘people first agenda.’
