Religious Leaders in the country have been cautioned to learn how to manage issues of religion and politics instead of making unnecessary prophecies that could throw the nation into confusion.

Dr Paul Ameh of Paula Ministries in conjunction with Covenant Believers Christians Centre 2023 during an interaction with journalists in Makurdi yesterday also  advised politicians to keep to their visions and promises to the people so as to leave lasting legacies.

Dr. Ameh who called for collaborative prayers for Benue in order to enhance peace lamented the high insecurity which he said had thrown indigenes into abject poverty.

He said; “The high rate of bloodshed in Benue has called for spiritual revival through fervent prayers and sincere repentance among the people.”

He appealed to religious leaders irrespective of religious affiliations to come together to pray for healing in the land because the state and Nigeria are sick and need collaborative prayers for the growth.

The minister who is in the state for a revival program expressed optimism that Nigeria and Benue would witness a new season in the new government.

He said; “I congratulate Rev. Fr. Alia for emerging as governor of the state and I believe that as a man of God, he will govern to bring salvation liberate people from abject poverty.

“Our state is sick and that is why it is projecting blood. Spiritual leaders should come together and pray, and whatever has gone wrong that made God withdraw His hand from the land, I believe that once we call for prayers, God will heal the land.

“Benue needs unity. There should be religious cooperation and harmony for peace to reign. For the prophesies before the election, most religious persons prophesied emotionally. Most of them were looking at the physical outlook to determine the outcome. We have to manage politics and religion very well so that we do not throw innocent people into confusion, Men of God need to be united because God does not work in disunity, with this I believe we are going to see a new season in Nigeria”
