As Muslims across Nigeria marked Eid-el-Kabir yesterday, the first lady, Senator Remi Tinubu, has extended warm greetings to them, calling for acts of compassion, sacrifice and prayers for national peace and unity.

In her Eid message released yesterday, she  described the festival as a season of deep reflection, urging Nigerians to embrace the core values of the season — sacrifice, obedience, faith and generosity.

“This is a time of deep reflection on the values of sacrifice, obedience, compassion, and faith,” she stated, “It is also a time to show kindness and generosity.”

She appealed to Nigerians to remember their neighbours and support the less privileged in the spirit of the celebration, which commemorates Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son in obedience to God.

Senator Tinubu also called on Nigerians to lift the nation in prayer, noting that the country’s future rests on collective faith and effort. “As we celebrate, also pray for our dear country, for continued peace, stability, and progress,” she said.
