The member representing Ukanafun/Oruk Anam Federal Constituency and chairman of the Public Procurement Committee, Rt. Hon. Unyime Idem, has empowered over 8,000 members of his constituency in various human capital development programs.

The federal lawmaker made this known through his media manager, Dianime Uko, yesterday in Uyo, saying he had sponsored 100 youths in capacity training abroad, including the United Kingdom, China and Rwanda, and 8,000 members of his constituency in other empowerment programmes in the country.

Some of the training programmes, according to the lawmaker, are Digital Job Creation Training for Youths in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State; Port Harcourt, Rivers State; Calabar, Cross River State; Warri, Delta State; and Benin, Edo State between 2019 and 2023.

Other trainings Rt. Hon. Unyime Idem has sponsored include “Akwa Ibom State Youths in Capacity building on public procurement Law for effective Legislative oversight and compliance monitoring in Kigali, Rwanda and Akwa Ibom State Youths in Programme/Training Course on Mariculture and processing and Circulation Technology of Aquatic Product, in Xiamen Gaoqi, China in 2024 and 2025, among many others,” Uko said.
