The people had during the electioneering campaign of the legislator, identified the major challenge facing them as the acute water shortage in the Ajaokuta Steel Township.

Speaking during the flag-off of the construction of the boreholes, Hon Abdulraheem noted that the provision of potable water to his constituents is one of his electioneering campaign promises to the people of Ajaokuta federal constituency.

“During my electioneering campaign, I promised my people that I will ensure that they have access to clean water supply. What we are doing today is in fulfilment of that promise. We will continue to expand the supply until the people have enough water,” he said.

Recall that several communities in Ajaokuta federal constituency, particularly in the Ajaokuta Steel Township had suffered acute water shortage, but can now heave a sigh of relief with the provision of fresh motorised borehole water system, a singular act that will drastically reduce the stress and hardship in the search for water in these communities.
