Federal Civil Service retirees have decried late payment of monthly pensions in the North-East zone.

The pensioners made the position known during a stakeholders engagement with the  Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) in Yola at the weekend.

They urged the directorate to look into the matter, with a view to addressing their plight.

PTAD, Executive Secretary,  Dr. Chioma Ejikeme, cautioned pensioners  against activities of fraudsters trying to defraud them with the name of the directorate.

Ejikeme said the directorate would never demand gratification whatsoever from pensioners.

“Disregard any text messages as  PTAD will not demand money from any pensioner. PTAD uses conventional media to reach out to pensioners, disregard any SMS message in the name of PTAD,” she warned.
