Rising Costs: Delta Warns Contractors Against Project Delay

Delta State government has warned contractors it would not accept any requests for upward reviews especially when projects were delayed.

The director-general of Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency, (DSCTDA), Patrick Ukah cautioned while flagging off construction of Leo Okonweze Street, off Ezenei Avenue and Odozi Obodo/Aninta/Anenta Street off Ezenei Avenue both in Oshimili South local government area of the state.

The director general said with the availability of all that was needed to have the job done, they were expected to commence work without delay, adding that there will be close monitoring till the end of the project.

He charged contractors to go back to site as any delay which will result in a demand for upward review will not be accepted.

He said that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has zero tolerance for shoddy jobs and warned that the state government will not spare anybody who is in the job of delivering projects that are not of topmost quality.

While commending the contractors for kickstarting the projects at the right time and season, he enjoined them to maintain the pace in order to deliver the right quality of work and on schedule.
