RISSMATT Commodity has appointed Abdullahi Numan to lead its efforts in entering the North American market.

This strategic decision aligns with the growing momentum in global trade, highlighting new avenues for growth and innovation.

RISSMATT Commodity in a statement, noted, “as global commodity flows evolve and African companies such as Dangote Refinery make significant strides with record crude shipments from North America, RISSMATT Community is strategically positioning itself to harness this momentum.”

It stated, “Abdullahi Numan, a Petroleum Engineer with training from Russia and Norway, brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in oil and gas, banking, maritime business, and commodity trading to his new role.

His leadership comes at a crucial juncture as the rise in transatlantic commodity exports underscores the increasing interconnectedness of global energy markets, offering African firms exciting opportunities to enhance their impact.

“RISSMATT Commodity’s leadership views the North American market not only as a promising frontier but also as a valuable learning environment. They point to the Chicago Mercantile Exchange’s (CME) success as a global standard for commodity trading and futures markets, which can provide valuable insights for future operations.”

It added that “Numan’s journey within the RISSMATT COMMODITY Group is a testament to his exceptional capabilities and vision. He first made his mark by leading Nigeria’s business development team, where he successfully spearheaded growth initiatives and established key partnerships in a competitive landscape.

“Recognising his potential, the company subsequently tasked him with opening the Ghana office, where he played a crucial role in expanding RISSMATT’s footprint in West Africa. His contributions have been acknowledged by the Kaduna Investment Promotion Agency, which recognised RISSMATT COMMODITY Aggregator Inc. among the exclusive list of Inclusive Business Companies for its commitment to promoting innovative trade solutions.”

It also said, “in his new position, Numan is set to leverage his diverse background to translate RISSMATT’s African market expertise into the dynamic and standardized trading environment of North America. His career encompasses technical petroleum engineering, financial risk management in banking, operational insight from maritime logistics, and hands-on leadership in commodity trading, equipping him with the unique skills to navigate various market systems effectively.

“Under Numan’s leadership, the new office will concentrate on cultivating strategic partnerships with North American energy trading firms to enhance the flow of crude and refined products between the U.S. and African markets.

“This initiative will incorporate best practices from CME’s model to foster transparency, liquidity, and risk management within RISSMATT’s trading operations. Additionally, the integration of advanced technology and market analytics will support efficient, data-driven commodity trading and supply chain management.”

According to the release, the expansion into North America represents a significant shift, emphasising that African commodity firms are increasingly exporting not just resources, but also expertise, innovation, and a vision for integrated global trade. With Abdullahi Numan at the forefront, RISSMATT aims to set new benchmarks for cross-continental collaboration and market leadership.

“As international trade dynamics continue to evolve, RISSMATT’s proactive approach highlights the significance of adaptive leadership and global learning in reinforcing Africa’s vital role in the future of the commodity market.”
