Ritualist With Human Skull, 268 Criminal Suspects Nabbed By A/Ibom Police

A suspected ritualist, one Edu Udeme Ime, seized with a human skull, was amongst no fewer than 269 criminals nabbed by Police operatives for sundry crimes in raids of various locations across Akwa Ibom state.

Parading the suspects over the weekend at the state Command headquarters, Ikot Akpanabia, near Uyo, the state capital, Commissioner of Police (CP), Olatoye Durosinmi, during his second quarter press briefing, said the breakthrough became necessary following intensified anti-crime raids of some crime -prone areas of the state.

Following intelligence, Durosinmi, said his vigilant team of the Quick Response Squad (QRS) were able to track down the suspect and eventually picked him up at Urua Ekpa Junction, searched and recovered a concealed human skull in his bag, adding that “the suspect could not give any reasonable explanation why he was in possession of human skull.”

 

The police chief said within the period under review, a total of 269 Suspects were apprehended for different offences, ranging from murder, kidnapping, armed robbery, cultism, rape, stealing, amongst others.

He stated that the Command also arrested one Aniekan James, for murder after shooting his 35years only son, identified as Odudu Aniekan, following an argument, noting the suspect to be a habitual murderer, who had previously committed murders in Lagos and Aba in Abia state.

 

Others cooling their heels in Police net, the CP said, include two Airport vandals, five suspected cultists, three kidnapping suspects, among others, and assured that “all the suspects will be charged to court at the completion of Investigations.”
