Rivers: 4 Secondary Schools Qualify For Education Champions League

Four secondary schools in Rivers State, have qualified for the finals of the first edition of the Education Champions League (ECL) quiz competition, which was organised for both public and private secondary schools in the state.

The schools are Federal Government Girls’ College, Abuloma, Port Harcourt and Aladumo International School, Port Harcourt, Enitonna High School, Port Harcourt and Seacrest Preparatory School, Port Harcourt.

Each of the successful schools, which emerged from the semi-final stages conducted simultaneously at Aladumo International School and Seacrest Preparatory School, will compete in the final, which is slated for 26 October 2024.

The four schools will be competing for three different awards; the O.B Lulu Briggs , Claude Ake and Boma Erekosima awards while the prizes on offer are N10 million for the champion, N5 million for the runner-up, and N2.5 million for the third place winner.

Speaking at the end of the quiz, Datom Kio Lawson of Test Integrity Group, TIG, coordinators of the quiz competition urged the schools which could not make it to the final stages not to feel inferior to any school explaining that there was element of luck in the competition.
