In a statement made available to LEADERSHIP Sunday in Port Harcourt, the state commissioner for Health, Dr Adaeze Oreh, said admission into the college can only be conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

The commissioner advised prospective candidates of the college to wait for the 2025 JAMB examination to apply for admission into the institution.

“The commissioner for Health wishes to state here that the said publication would be best described as a desperate attempt by mischief makers to defraud the general public.

“In keeping the record straight, may it be clearly stated that the School of Nursing as it was formerly known has been upgraded to College of Nursing Sciences, hence necessitating that every interested candidate should pass through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) starting from next year.

“There is no ongoing sale of nursing and midwifery forms for the 2024/2025 session in the ministry. That such publications, as seen on social media platforms, are false and did not emanate from the Ministry of Health.
