They are among 25 African coaches selected for this opportunity. Odaudu and Mohamed led Rivers Hoopers to a historic campaign in the 2024 Basketball Africa League (BAL), becoming the first Nigerian team to reach the knockout stages and achieve a podium finish.
Odaudu will work with the Cleveland Cavaliers and coach John-Blair J.B Bickerstaff, while Mohamed will join the Utah Jazz and coach Will Hardy.

“Our head coach @OOdaudu and his assistant at the @thebal Abdulrahman Mohamed are 2 of the 25 African coaches selected to participate in the NBA summer league from 12-22 July in Las Vegas.
While Odaudu will coach with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Mohamed will be with Utah Jazz.” Rivers Hoopers official X handle posted.

This is Odaudu’s second time at the NBA Summer League, having previously assisted former D’Tigers coach Mike Brown in 2022. Both coaches are currently in the United States and look forward to applying their newfound knowledge to develop basketball at the grassroots level in Nigeria.
Recall that Odaudu was named the 2024 BAL head coach of the year.
