Obiagari, who competed in the women’s discus throw event, finished second with a throw of 56.99 metres, just behind Cameroonian Nora Atim Monie, who achieved 57.04 metres. Ozlem Becerek of Turkey took third place with a throw of 55.56 metres, while fellow Nigerian athlete Chioma Chukwujindu finished fourth with a throw of 55.80 metres.

Reflecting on her silver medal victory, Obiagari expressed her excitement regarding her performance, especially after the long journey to Riyadh on the day of her event.

“It has been a great season, working through my technical issues, and this year has been very developmental for me,” she said.

“I think I did a great job today despite the long travel, and I responded well to the competition. It’s been a fantastic season, and I’m excited to see what comes next. I’m happy to have won a medal for Nigeria, even though it wasn’t quite what I really wanted, but I’m still thrilled.”
