RKK Group, a prominent Nigerian conglomerate, has taken a significant step forward in its commitment to sustainability and operational excellence by advancing towards the Integrated Management System (IMS) certifications.
This initiative reinforces the group’s dedication to international best practices, particularly in its core sectors: Construction and Renewable Energy.
The IMS certifications, which include ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management), ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental Management), and ISO 45001:2018 (Occupational Health and Safety), will further enhance RKK Group’s ability to deliver sustainable and reliable energy solutions across Africa. These efforts align with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy) and SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth).
The group chief executive officer of RKK Group, Aderemi Rasheed Kilaso, said, “Our pursuit of international standards, particularly ISO certifications, has been a catalyst for innovation within RKK Group.
He highlighted the company’s latest innovation, the iRESS solar backpack, as an example of this commitment. The multifunctional backpack, equipped with a foldable solar panel, lithium phosphate battery, and inverter system, is designed to meet the daily energy needs of users by harnessing solar energy and providing durable battery storage.
“The iRESS solar backpack is more than just a product; it represents our contribution to global sustainability efforts. Through clean energy access and economic empowerment, we are playing a part in building a better world,” Kilaso emphasised.
The RKK Group’s commitment to safety, a cornerstone of its operations, is particularly significant given its involvement in high-risk industries such as construction and renewable energy.
“Safety is paramount in everything we do. It is crucial that our staff, who are exposed to various risks, are protected through stringent safety protocols,” Kilaso explained.
He added that comprehensive health insurance schemes for all staff further support the group’s focus on health and safety.
Kilaso noted that the RKK Group’s journey to ISO certification is not just about compliance, saying it represents a broader commitment to aligning with international best practices. “We have always adhered to global standards, and obtaining these certifications will be a formal acknowledgement of our efforts,” Kilaso said confidently.
He said the group aims to complete the certification process within five weeks, further strengthening its operations and setting new benchmarks in the industry.
