RMD Joins Anakle Films, Producers Of Netflix’s Film, The Black Book

Actor and Film Producer, Richard Mofe Damijo (RMD), RMD Productions Limited, has joined the Anakle Films, the producer of the Netflix film The Black Book, starring the actor.

With Anakle Films acquisition of RMD Productions Limited, the actor takes up the position of Chairman, Board of Directors, at Anakle Films. The acquisition also yielded in a 14-project slate of productions for Anakle Films, including film and television series, which cuts across several genres, from drama to thrillers among others, with the first of these to kick off production by the first quarter of 2024.

“The journey to The Black Book was a transformative one for me, both professionally and personally. Meeting with Editi Effiong and embracing the physical and emotional demands of my role was invigorating challenge that took me to new heights.

“As I step into my new position at Anakle Films, I’m excited to contribute to the growth and innovation of African storytelling. Speaking of storytelling talents abundant in the country, and the impact of having the veteran actor onboard Anakle Films, The Black Book director, Editi Effiong said, “Nigerians are amazing storytellers. It is core to who we are. But as a culture, we have tended to distance ourselves, especially in the creative storytelling genre, and from the harsher realities of what military rule and corruption did to our nation in the 70s and beyond.

“With Richard Mofe-Damijo joining our team, we will add a new layer of excellence to our storytelling”.

The Black Book premiered on Netflix, Friday, September 22, 2023 , and is a fictional film that explores Nigeria’s conflicted history spanning military dictatorship, drug trafficking and politics via a retired hitman’s quest for justice.
