British rock legend Rod Stewart has reassured fans about his health following a heart procedure earlier this year, saying he feels incredibly well as he prepares for his final rock and roll tour.
The 81-year-old singer shared the update while attending a charity gala performance of Sinatra the Musical with his wife, Penny Lancaster, at London’s Aldwych Theatre on October 15.
Stewart said he was feeling very well and noted that he had recently swum 400 metres.
The update comes two months after the “Maggie May” singer underwent a routine coronary stent procedure in August, prompting him to cancel the remainder of his tour dates for the year.
His heart treatment followed an incident in June when he paused a concert in Utah and used an oxygen mask after nearly fainting on stage.
Despite the health setback, Stewart announced his The Final Encore Tour for 2027 in September, describing it as his last major rock and roll tour.
In an Instagram post on September 28, he said that, after considerable thought and with some sadness, he had decided that the following year would mark his final tour.
However, the singer clarified that the decision did not signal his complete retirement from music. He explained that while he was not retiring, the tour would be his last focused on rock and roll.
