The event, held at The Citadel Building, Kudirat Abiola Way in Ikeja, Lagos, marked the symbolic birth of a new force for humanitarian service under the banner of Rotary International.

The ceremony, rich in tradition and filled with high expectations, was attended by top Rotary leaders and dignitaries, led by the District Governor of Rotary District 9111, Rotarian Dr. Wole Kukoyi.

Kukoyi said the presentation of the charter certificate was not just a procedural event in Rotary culture; rather, it signifies official recognition of a club’s commitment to Rotary’s ideals and readiness to carry forward the organisation’s mission of service above self.

He praised the commitment and drive of the club’s founding members, noting that their establishment represents the continued expansion of Rotary’s footprint in Nigeria and a deepening of its impact.

“The birth of Ikeja Golden Impact is a testament to the growing desire for service, leadership, and meaningful impact. I am proud of this club’s energy and vision for our district. This is a club born with a purpose and driven by a spirit of community transformation,” Kukoyi said.

District Governor-Elect, Rotarian Prince Henry Akinyele, was also present, reinforcing the district leadership’s support and signalling a seamless transition of mentorship and guidance.

Central to the event was the Charter President, Rotarian Teniola Ogundeji, whose passion and conviction were evident in her speech. For her and her fellow charter members, the moment went beyond a formal induction; it was the beginning of a movement.

Ogundeji said, “We are not just receiving a certificate today. We are receiving a call to serve. Ikeja Golden Impact is committed to creating lasting change, empowering communities, and living out the values of Rotary in every project we shall embark on.”
