Lagos The Rotary Club of Lagos, District 9110, in its bid to reach out to the needs in the health and education sectors, has extended its humanitarian act to special needs homes and health institutions across the Lagos metropolis with the donation of mobility aids to improve the living standard of the physically challenged in society.
Gbagada General Hospital, Modupe Cole Memorial Child Care, Atunda Olu School for the Physically and Mentally Challenged Children and Pacelli School for the Blind and Partially Sighted, are the latest recipients of mobility aids from the Rotary Club alongside its partners from the US, Crutches4Africa. As part of the duties of the Rotary Club,
which includes impacting the lives of the downtrodden in society, a call upheld by identifying seven key areas which include maternal care and child care, health, water, sanitation, and hygiene, supporting the environment, promoting global peace and resolving conflicts through financial empowerment and disease prevention.
The Rotary Club delegates which include the director, Rotary Foundation and chairman, Mobility Aid Project, Rotarian UK Eke, Rotarian Abiodun Role, and Rotarian Engr
. Owolabi Adegoke presented 27 pieces of mobility aid equipment to the Modupe Cole Special Homes and Treatment Centre; 32 Mobility aids to Atanda Olu School for the physically and mentally Challenged; 12 mobility aids to Pacelli School for the Blind and Partially Sighted and 50 mobility aids to the Gbagada General Hospital, to help with the mobility of Nigerians with cerebral palsy and down syndrome cases, among others.
