Rotary Club Provides Free Healthcare Services To FCT Residents

In a concerted effort to tackle healthcare disparities and deliver essential medical care, Rotary Club Abuja Imperial, District 9125 Nigeria, has offered free medical outreach in the Karonmajigi community of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.

The outreach, marked by a significant turnout, focused on meeting the healthcare needs of women and children, offering a comprehensive range of services including consultations, check-ups, vaccinations, and medication provision.

Rotary Club of Abuja Imperial’s initiative underscores its dedication to enhancing healthcare access and fostering well-being in marginalized communities. Through collaboration with local healthcare professionals and volunteers, the club effectively addressed urgent healthcare needs among vulnerable populations in Karonmajigi.

The event garnered widespread appreciation from community members who expressed gratitude for the timely intervention, emphasizing its positive impact on their lives.

Numerous beneficiaries emphasized the importance of accessible healthcare services, particularly for women and children who often confront greater health risks due to socioeconomic factors.

The Club President, Emmanuella Odunze reiterated the organization’s commitment to community service and ongoing support for initiatives aimed at improving health outcomes and sustainable development.

Odunze noted that the success of the medical outreach exemplifies the collaborative efforts of Rotary, local stakeholders, and volunteers in effecting tangible change in the lives of those in need.

“As the club continues its humanitarian efforts, it remains steadfast in fulfilling its mission of serving humanity and making enduring contributions to communities across the Federal Capital Territory,” stated Odunze.

The event provided crucial health screenings, including for prostate cancer, diabetes, malaria, and HIV, along with referrals to medical facilities for further assessment or treatment as necessary. Additionally, essential items such as insecticide-treated nets, birthing kits, and sanitary pads were distributed.

Odunze underscored the significance of the outreach program, highlighting Rotary’s commitment to enhancing community well-being.

Community Service Director, Matthew Omaye outlined the diverse range of free health services offered during the outreach, spanning from cancer screenings to family planning counseling and children’s immunizations.

The District Head of Karonmajigi, Yunusa Abdullahi Bako commended the Rotary Club’s efforts in providing free medical services to the community, recognizing their lasting impact on beneficiaries and healthcare infrastructure.

He expressed appreciation for the timely and invaluable assistance rendered by the Rotary Club.

Beneficiary Blessing Gift lauded the organization for offering medical examinations that many could not afford otherwise, stressing the importance of such initiatives in propelling the country towards progress.

Mrs. Odey Rebecah of the Planned Parenthood Federation of Nigeria (PPFN) emphasized the significance of collaboration with the Rotary Club in addressing reproductive health needs, particularly stressing the importance of prostate tests for men.

The success of the health outreach event underscores the impactful role of community-driven initiatives in addressing healthcare disparities and promoting well-being in underserved areas.
