Nigerian actor and filmmaker, Rotimi Salami, has celebrated his late friend and colleague, Allwell Ademola, on Mother’s Day.
In a heartbreaking post, the Nollywood actor noted that Allwell is no longer alive to receive the flowers for directing her movie, Kilanko. He noted that the movie is an impactful, balanced, and thought-provoking film celebrating mothers.
He voiced a desire for people to watch the movie, which was her last big project before she passed.
He wrote: “Happy Mother’s Day, Shuga Boo. Shuga Boo, I did it… Kilanko is currently showing in all cinemas on “Mother’s Day” as You Wished.
“It only hurts the most today, reflecting that you are not here to receive your flowers for directing such an impactful and balanced thought- provoking film to celebrate mothers.
“Truly, in life. Ki lan ko gangan. What are we celebrating? Life or death? I really want everyone to see this film, one of your last biggest. Kilanko is showing in all cinemas near you.”
Salami recently reacted to a troll who lambasted him for using the late actress to promote the movie, saying he should allow her to rest in peace.
He pointed out how people can be ignorant and reprimanded the troll, telling them to keep quiet and not promote the works of their late loved ones.
Allwell Ademola had suffered from cardiac arrest before passing away on December 27th at her home.
Salami, in his first public post after news of her passing, showed how shaken he was and noted how 72 hours of endless tears still cannot bring her back and that he was learning to move on.
